Hunt still backs AstraZeneca vaccine
This morning we heard that the South African Government has halted its AstraZeneca vaccine program.
Researchers say the AstraZeneca vaccine offered only limited protection against mild disease caused by the South African variant of COVID 19.
But this morning Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt said he was still confident in the vaccine.
“What we’ve seen is additional data coming out of the UK recently, I spoke with the UK health secretary in recent days — that’s their health minister equivalent — they’re having very strong results,” he Sydney radio station 2GB .
