More travel freedom comes online after months of coronavirus border restrictions
For the first time in many months, most of Australia’s state and territory borders have reopened, a welcome move ahead of Christmas.
Controls on interstate movements were introduced earlier in the year in an attempt to limit the spread of COVID-19.
But the renewed freedoms present a confusing situation for travellers, as each state has different rules.
Some jurisdictions require pre-registration for entry, mask-wearing and venue check-ins, while others are more relaxed.
