Collingwood CEO Mark Anderson has revealed he wasn’t aware of Eddie McGuire’s plan to step down as club president after the 2021 season before he announced the decision on Monday.
McGuire made shocked the AFL community last night at a Collingwood club members forum where he revealed he had been planning for some time to step away at the end of next season.
Anderson, who took over as the Pies’ CEO in 2018, said McGuire’s decision came as a genuine “surprise” to him as much as anyone.
