Cochlear implants are so widespread that it’s easy to take for granted what a life-changing tool they are for people with hearing loss.
But they’re not perfect.
Implants don’t always perform well in noisy areas, and they can be more effective for some people than others but improving the designis a labour-intensive process that relies heavily on the work of volunteers who use them.
