This month the AFL confirmed the total player payments and additional services agreement for 2021 will be cut by nine per cent, with players to take a 3.5 per cent pay cut on average.
Rather than applying a flat rate cut across the competition, the AFL has left the responsibility with clubs to renegotiate player contracts in order to adhere to the new cap, something that has left many clubs irate.
