CIMIC to sell 50pc of Thiess to hedge fund Elliott – The Australian Financial Review
The Spanish-controlled construction group has been trying to sell Thiess for about a year but the sale was delayed by COVID-19.

It also competes with CIMIC’s owner, Grupo ACS, on the soccer field. Elliott Management owns Italian club AC Milan, while ACS’s chairman and top shareholder, Florentino Pérez Rodríguez, has been president of Spanish club Real Madrid for more than a decade.
Elliott Advisors’ most recent annual report filed with the UK’s Companies House, for the year ending December 2018, shows it made a £5 million net profit and its highest-paid director (who was not named) earned £11.9 million.
