Christmas tragedies as two men die in separate Queensland crashes

A 28-year-old man has died on Christmas Day after his vehicle crashed into a powerpole in far north Queensland.
Police were called about 7am on Friday to Palmerston Highway at Coorumba where the Holden Commodore left the road and crashed.
The driver died at the scene and three women who were passengers were uninjured.
Investigations are continuing.
It comes after a 21-year-old Charters Towers man died after his vehicle mounted an embankment and overturned at Broughton on Christmas Eve.
Police said the Toyota utility was travelling on Mafeking Road before it left the road.
The driver and sole occupant died at the scene.
