China’s Foreign Ministry has dismissed claims by British, Australian and European MPs that it should be stripped of the 2022 Winter Olympics because of its actions in Hong Kong and Xinjiang.
Wang Wenbin, the Foreign Ministry spokesman, said concerns raised by members of the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China went against the spirit of the Olympic charter and impeded the progress of global human rights.
