Mr MacKenzie has led a 30-year fight for justice on behalf of Australian victims and called for a royal commission into the scandal.
He said he was sick of “burying mates” and watching others suffer debilitating symptoms of Hepatitis C, a major cause of liver disease and cancer.
“This is the worst public health scandal in Australian history,” he said. “People have died, children have died. This was not an accident at all. There is blood on their hands.”
