Cheers star George Wendt dies aged 76

George Wendt, who played the affable, beer-loving bar fly Norm on the hit 1980s comedy Cheers, has died aged 76.

After shooting to fame on Cheers, he went on to craft a stage career that took him to Broadway in Art, Hairspray and Elf.
