Commonwealth Bank of Australia is stepping up its assault on Australias leverage finance market, making changes to try to be involved in funding more private equity buyouts and private equity -owned businesses.
CBA, the countrys biggest bank, has hired ex-HSBC, Barclays and Deutsche Bank banker Gautam Rao as its new head of private equity and leverage finance, to be based in Sydney, according to an update sent to staff on Wednesday.
