Cardboard and paper warehouse engulfed by massive blaze in Brisbane’s east
Emergency crews are battling a major fire at an industrial site at Hemmant, near the mouth of the Brisbane River.
It broke out in a recycling warehouse in Gosport Street.
It’s understood the blaze started in cardboard and paper outside the warehouse then quickly spread to other parts of the building.
Fire crews are using cranes to fight the flames, but the building is well alight.
Thick clouds of black smoke have been billowing across the area.
Police have cordoned off surrounding streets and traffic diversions are in place.
Paramedics are on standby but so far there are no reports of injuries.
