A man who smashed his way into a Perth house and fatally stabbed a woman was in a psychotic state at the time and believed he was “being controlled by a god”, WA’s Supreme Court has been told.

Jesse John de Beaux, 25 is on trial accused of the murder of 30-year-old Cara Hales, who was stabbed dozens of times in the bedroom of her Munster home three days after Christmas in 2018.
