Canberra Liberal James Milligan re-enters ACT Legislative Assembly after Alistair Coe’s resignation

Gungahlin businessman James Milligan has re-entered the ACT Legislative Assembly as a Canberra Liberals member after losing his seat at last year’s election.

Mr Milligan, 42, takes the place of former opposition leader Alistair Coe, who announced in January he would retire from politics.

By-elections are not held in the ACT when a member resigns.

Instead, the last election’s ballot papers are recounted to see who would have been elected, had the departing member…
