Cameron Smith will return to Melbourne on Wednesday. But unfortunately for Storm fans he won’t be pulling on the boots to take on South Sydney.
Instead it is thought this is the start of a mentoring role with the next generation of young Storm stars, like the one which has seen Cooper Cronk thrust into the limelight this week.
Smith will fly into the Victorian capital for the unveiling of a statue less than six months after his final game for the club.
