Cairns showground accident leaves woman fighting for life
A woman is fighting for life after falling from an amusement ride in far north Queensland.
Emergency services were called to the Cairns showgrounds about 5.30pm on Saturday and took the woman, who is in her 20s, to hospital with critical injuries.
It’s believed the woman fell up to 30 metres.
Police say forensic crash investigators are at the scene and a joint investigation with Workplace Health and Safety will be conducted.
