The three-year-old secured a golden ticket into the $1.5 million feature after beating boom horse, and nominal Stradbroke favourite Ayrton in Saturday’s Group 3 Fred Best Classic.
Previously 85th in the order of entry, Apache Chase gets in with a featherweight 49.5kg, however trainer Desleigh Forster confirmed she is willing to let Byrne ride 1kg overweight…
