Business and consumer confidence rides high ahead of Christmas – Sydney Morning Herald
Business confidence has hit a two year high while consumers are now at their most buoyant this year.
There were big improvements in trading and profitability as well as forward orders while capacity utilisation also improved.
NAB chief economist Alan Oster said it was encouraging to see such a large improvement in business conditions, which was being driven by the re-opening of Victoria although all states were seeing gains.
But Mr Oster said the measure of employment remained in negative territory with no lift in November.
