A bushfire is threatening lives and homes in Perth’s south in the City of Cockburn, with residents urged to take immediate action to survive.
Key points:
- It is too late to leave for residents living in or nearby Prosperity Loop
- The fire started near the intersection of Nornalup Close and Aubin Grove Link
- The blaze has forced the partial closure of Gibbs and Lyon Roads
The emergency warning is in place for the area bounded by Lyon Road, Gibbs Road, Beenyup Road and Cape Range Crescent in Aubin Grove and Banjup.
For residents living in or nearby Prosperity Loop, it is too late to leave.
Authorities have urged them to shelter in their homes, close all doors and turn off air conditioners, but keep the water running through them if possible.
