Bunnings owner pushes for shutdown exemption as 168 stores set to close – Sydney Morning Herald
Retail giant Wesfarmers appears to be one of the only major retailers lobbying the Victorian government for an exemption to its retail trading ban.
“Weve proven through COVID that we have dramatically adjusted our operating procedures. So I think that theres an opportunity in a very risk-based measured way that we review this over coming weeks.”
Only essential retailers such as supermarkets, pharmacies and post offices will be able to open for trade from Thursday under sweeping stage four lockdown laws introduced by the Victorian government on Monday.
