Bruce Springsteen starred in a Super Bowl ad calling for unity in the US, but the feedback wasn’t all good
Bruce Springsteen popping up in a Super Bowl commercial was one of the biggest surprises in this year’s stack of high-profile ads.
No company has ever secured Springsteen’s (aka The Boss) endorsement, so his appearance was a big deal.
The sweeping ad for Jeep, called The Middle, aims for a unity message in an increasingly divided America.
But it fell flat for some who said it was “tone deaf”, particularly in the wake of the deadly US Capitol riot.

It was the strongest political statement of the night.
