‘Brown was ready to come’: How Demons missed out on Lions great
Jonathan Brown is Brisbane royalty.
But former Melbourne CEO Paul McNamee says the former premiership player and captain was close to joining the Demons in 2008.
McNamee, who was sacked after just four months in the role after Jim Stynes took over as chairman of the AFL club, was locked in discussions with Browns manger to bring the Melbourne-born forward to the club.
