Broome beaches reopen after fatal shark attack as first responder speaks out

A Pilbara man who attempted to help the victim of yesterday’s fatal shark attack in Broome has described the confronting scene that faced him.

- Mr Cernobori had been swimming at Cable Beach in Broome when he was bitten by a large shark
- He died as a result of his injuries after emergency services arrived and attempted further first aid
Broome man Charles Cernobori was fatally bitten in shallow water off Cable Beach just before 9:00am on Sunday.
Beaches around the town have since reopened, and fisheries officers are continuing to monitor the waters off Broome.
