British singer James Blunt has admitted he once got scurvy after adopting an all-meat diet to spite his vegan and vegetarian classmates.
The condition, known for afflicting 18th and 19th century sailors who were at sea for months at a time, is caused by a lack of Vitamin C and can cause bleeding gums, fatigue, muscle weakness, bruising and skin rashes. It can sometimes cause the skin to bleed and can be fatal.
