It’s looking like a trek of six months or more for Europe’s major nations to reach even the foothills of COVID-19 herd immunity.

Britain’s medicines regulator may move earlier, but has not given a date for its decision.
“We have to accept that this vaccine is not here yet, no vaccine is here yet,” Mr Johnson told parliament.
“And while all the signs are promising … we do not yet have one that has gained regulatory approval. We can’t be completely sure when the moment will arrive, and until then we cannot afford to relax.”
