Brisbane’s COVID lockdown tests the strength of businesses post-JobKeeper

Brisbane is locked down — a now-familiar routine for capital cities in Australia.

- JobKeeper ended on Sunday March 28
- Businesses in Brisbane are hopeful they can get through the three-day lockdown without financial stress but are worried about a longer lockdown
- Brisbane currently has the highest unemployment rate of Australasia’s biggest cities
But it is also in an uncomfortable experiment, the first city suffering severe pandemic restrictions since the economy-saving JobKeeper program wound up earlier this week.
