Brisbane primary school staff member charged with historic child sex offences

A worker from a Brisbane primary school has been charged over alleged child sex offences dating back to the 1990s.
Queensland police said they have charged a 48-year-old man with multiple offences, including three counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16, one count of rape and one count of unlawful intercourse with a child under 12 years.
It is alleged the offences occurred between 1993 and 1997 but there is no suggestion the victims were from the school, which can’t be named for legal reasons.
ABC News was alerted by a member of the school community after police attended the campus yesterday.
An email sent by the school’s principal alerted parents to a “police matter involving an employee”.
