Brisbane police officer returns to work after COVID-19 vaccine scare

The Brisbane man who developed blood clots after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine has returned to his duties as a Queensland police sergeant.
Queensland police issued a statement on his behalf on Friday, announcing the 40-year-old officer was back on duty following the scare.
Queensland Health is investigating any links between the vaccine and blood clots.

“A 40-year-old sergeant from Brisbane was recently vaccinated against COVID-19. Shortly after, symptoms developed which warranted further medical attention,” it read.
“The sergeant previously underwent surgery on his knee in 2009 and developed deep vein thrombosis following this procedure. He recovered from this diagnosis within 12 months.
