Brisbane man charged with murder after baby allegedly died of neglect

The victim’s twin brother and older sister, who was aged four at the time, have been cared for by someone else since the death.
The baby’s mother, a 34-year-old woman, was last month charged with murder, misconduct with a corpse and failing to provide the necessities of life for the three children.
Last month, Detective Inspector David Briese appealed for the 41-year-old man – who has now been charged – to come forward because police believed he lived at the Sonter Street home at the time.
Inspector Briese said last month the results of medical tests and pathology reports led police to allege the victim’s death was the result of neglect over the “days” leading up to his body being found.
