Brisbane couple killed at random in ‘terrorism event’, say police

Police said he was wielding a knife when officers confronted him in Drewvale on Thursday morning, hours after he had cut off the GPS tracking device he had been ordered to wear as a bail condition.
Mr Abdi was known to counter-terrorism police, had been under strict bail conditions and was suspected of being “influenced by Islamic State”, according to police.
The GPS tracker has since been found by police in bushland a few kilometres away from the Antills’ home.
Ms Linford said on Friday detectives were looking into any possible link between Mr Abdi and the Antills but…
