Bring on Tokyo! High jumper becomes first Aussie woman to break 2-m barrier – Fox Sports
At the Rio Games 197cm was good enough for gold. On Sunday in Sydney, Australian Nicola McDermott cleared the 2-metre barrier.

In doing so, the 24-year-old became the first Australian to break the mark less than four months out from the Tokyo Olympics.
McDermotts 2-m clearance saw her beat the previous mark set by her domestic rival Eleanor Patterson only a year earlier.
The 2018 Commonwealth Games bronze-medallist said her faith helped conquer her doubts about the 2-m mark.
