It was supposed to be a convivial meal, but the reverberations of Brett Redman’s shock announcement must have given everyone indigestion.

Redman attended in person on Wednesday to explain his reasoning. But there was little more illumination beyond his public insistence he couldnt commit to another five years because he had always thought he would want to do something else to end his executive career.
The boards tone in response would have been calm but icy cold and the discussion with Redman relatively brief.
