Australia opener David Warner and all-rounder Sean Abbott have both been ruled out of the Boxing Day Test against India, unable to join the squad in time for the marquee event.
Warner and Abbott both spent time in Sydney outside of the team bubble as they recovered from injury, and while neither was in a COVID-19 hotspot Cricket Australias biosecurity protocols mean they cannot link up with the squad in time for the second Test.
The duo will join the squad ahead of the third Test.
