The P1 variant has arrived in Ireland, with all three cases associated with foreign travel

Three cases of the “worrying” Brazilian Covid-19 mutation have been detected in Ireland in recent days.
The HSE confirmed that public health teams are dealing with the cases and enhanced measures have been put in place to stop the variant spreading on our shores.
HSE Chief Operating Officer Dr Colm Henry told RTE Radio One on Sunday morning that the news of more variants is worrying but chiefs are doing all they can to make sure it doesn’t spread.
