Trainer John Sargent wasnt even on track but few big wins have given him as much satisfaction as Brandenburgs at Gosford on Saturday.
Brandenburg finally delivered on the promise he has always shown Sargent when he scored a tough win in the inaugural running of the $500,000 The Coast (1600m).
But it has been a journey of frustration and disappointment over the past 12 months for Sargent and his owners as Brandenburg lost his way.
I dont think he was trying in his races, Sargent said.
