Motorists are being warned of huge delays as thousands of people try and get into Queensland before Saturday’s hard border closure.
Heavy rain across the south-east is also impacting traffic conditions across the Gold Coast.
There is also a four vehicle accident at Tweed Heads South near the Terranora Creek Bridge adding to the chaos
As at 3pm, delays at the M1 border checkpoint stretched all the way back to Banora Point.
It is estimated to take up to two hours to get through the checkpoint….
