Boeing to pay US$17 million over production problems on 737 jets – ABC News
The settlement, while not a large sum for Boeing, is the latest black eye for the American aircraft manufacturer.
US officials say Boeing will pay at least US$17 million ($22 million) and take steps to fix production problems on its 737 jets, including the MAX.
- Boeing will pay a civil penalty for its installation of unapproved sensors and other parts on some Boeing 737 NG and 737 MAX planes
- The company faces lawsuits from the families of people killed in 737 MAX crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia
- Boeing says it has “fully resolved” the problems in its production system and supply chain
