Body cameras capture police rescue of 60yo man from burning Mackay unit
Body cameras worn by police have captured the moment officers in North Queensland rescued a 60-year-old man from his burning unit.
Key points:
The Queensland Police Service said the three officers heard the man inside the unit on Macdonald Street in South Mackay on Saturday night.
Detective Acting Inspector Mick Searle said the man would likely have died if it were not for the officers’ efforts.
“In that video … I think you could draw a pretty firm conclusion that if those police don’t go into that house at that time that male doesn’t survive this incident,” he said.
