Boat battered, homes blacked out as hail, winds lash SEQ

The State Emergency Service responded to calls for assistance, primarily fallen trees and leaking roofs.

The most powerful wind gust across the region on Monday was a 93km/h blow at Dalby in the Darling Downs, north-west of Brisbane, about 4.30pm.

In terms of rainfall, Borumba Dam on the Sunshine Coast recorded 142 millimetres – the highest for Monday.

Beerburrum received 40mm, Sunshine Coast Airport recorded 71mm, while Tin Can Bay – north of Noosa – had 40mm.

Images from Woodford and Caboolture showed tree branches across roads, while business owners described rain coming under their front doors.
