Biswas tells staff he isn’t going to Rio – The Australian Financial Review
Newcrest Mining chief executive Sandeep Biswas has rejected suggestions he wants to be chief executive of Rio Tinto.
Mr Biswas went on to say he was “committed” to implementing Newcrest’s growth plans and looked forward to continuing to work with his staff over “coming years”.
Mr Biswas was in charge of Rio’s Australasian aluminium smelters when he was poached to run Newcrest in late 2013.
He was chosen for the Newcrest role because of his technical knowledge and skills in running complex metallurgical processing plants.
