Big changes needed to combat security threats

These are among the 203 recommendations from the biggest review into Australia’s intelligence agencies in 40 years, as Attorney-General Christian Porter warned espionage was among the biggest threats facing Australia today. Australian Border Force should also get access to tracking devices, under warrants, law enforcement could get surveillance powers without warrants in urgent situations if it would lessen immediate threats to life or help find suspected kidnappings.
