Bennett and the Jets: NRL 17th team contender confirms talks for Brisbane homecoming – Fox Sports
Wayne Bennett is in secret talks to become the head coach of the NRL’s prospective new 17th team, the Brisbane Jets.
Reported first by the Courier Mail, the newly-formed Jets bid has formally contacted the South Sydney Rabbitohs coach with a view to bringing the former Broncos man back to Brisbane.
They want Bennett to call the shots ahead of the 2023 season if theirs is the bid chosen to create a fourth team in Queensland.
I have reached out to Wayne weve had talks, Jets consortium figurehead Steve Johnson said.
