Ben McEvoy keen to ‘make amends’ after being named Hawthorn’s 37th club captain – Wide World of Sports
‘Exemplifies what it is to be a Hawthorn person’

Veteran Hawthorn big man Ben McEvoy will captain the side this season, replacing the retired Ben Stratton as the 37th captain in the club’s rich history.
After what was described as a “robust” internal process, McEvoy was selected as the skipper, with star midfielder Jaeger O’Meara to be his deputy as the vice-captain.
Young gun James Worpel is a new addition to the club’s leadership group, which is rounded out by Liam Shiels, Jack Gunston and 2018 Brownlow Medallist Tom Mitchell.
