China has joined Australia in the World Health Organisation’s COVAX initiative rejected by the United States.
China has pledged to distribute any successful coronavirus vaccine it develops as a global public health good, signing up to the World Health Organisation’s COVAX platform rejected by the United States.
It will join Australia and 170 other countries on the COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access Facility as universities and medical research centres race to develop a vaccine for the disease that has killed more than 1 million people around the world.
