Peter Siddle bagged his best-ever BBL figures of 5/16 off 3.3 overs as the Strikers bowled out the Hurricanes for 146 off 19.3 overs.
But the Strikers copped early wickets of their own, with James Faulkner bagging 2/9 off the first over the innings.
