Reporter accused of manipulating the princess
The BBC has reportedly apologised to Princess Diana’s family over journalist Martin Bashir’s conduct ahead of his famed Panorama interview with Princess Diana in 1995.
According to the Sunday Times, BBC Director-General Tim Davie issued the apology to Princess Diana’s brother Charles Spencer.
Bashir is accused of manipulating Diana into participating in the televised interview by playing on her fears she was being spied on and manufacturing documents designed to convince the princess a former employee…
