Bat carrying deadly virus found in Brisbane’s south
Metro South Health service this morning issued a community service announcement stating a baby flying fox carrying Australian Bat Lyssavirus had been found in Parkinson.
“ABLV is closely related but not identical to rabies virus, which causes a serious and usually fatal disease in humans,” Queensland Health’s website reads.Metro South Public Health Physician Dr Bhakti Vasant said the bat was found under a bridge at Lakewood Ave Park on December 10 and had since died….
