Ballarat leaders have urged residents to wear a face mask as we aim to keep the city Covid free.
City of Ballarat interim CEO Janet Dore and Mayor Cr Ben Taylor both say a mask should be worn whilst out in public.
They’re also urging us not to travel outside the municipality.
Cr Taylor said wearing masks in public was an added preventative step to keep Ballarat safe as COVID-19 hotspots flare up in Melbourne and Mitchell Shire.
“I would also ask Ballarat residents not to travel outside the municipality unless they really have to,” Cr Taylor said.
“We have no active cases of COVID-19 in Ballarat, and haven’t had since mid-May, and I would like it to stay that way.”
Whilst Ballarat remains coronavirus free the Moorabool shire recorded an active case across the weekend whilst Greater Geelong still has 5 and Bendigo 3 cases.
