Bad Teacher actress Cameron Diaz launches wine brand Avaline with entrepreneur Katherine Power – PerthNow

She hasnt been on our screens in nearly six years and it looks like actress Cameron Diaz is taking advantage of her time away from the cameras with an intoxicating new side hustle.
The 47-year-old has teamed up with WhoWhatWear and Versed Skincare entrepreneur Katherine Power to launch a new wine collection.
Announcing the new project on Instagram, Diaz said the idea for the brand named Avaline started two years ago on a beautiful Los Angeles afternoon in the backyard. We realised that we knew the contents of everything that went onto and into our bodies – why not wine?.
The actress and entrepreneur met through Nicole Richie, Diazs sister-in-law and one of Powers friends.
Over drinks one afternoon a few years ago, they realised that while they had switched to eating organic food and using clean skincare, they didnt know what was inside the wine they had been drinking.
From there they decided to educate themselves on the process before looking into starting their own label, which they spent two years developing.
The Bad Teacher star – who has five-month-old daughter Raddix with husband Benji Madden – says Avaline is a collection of clean wines which are full of natural goodness.
She also said she always believed that the key to wellness is balance and creating a clean wine full of natural goodness and free from dozens of unwanted and undisclosed extras helped her to find the balance when enjoying a glass of wine.
It’s wine at its purest, created for those who embrace the pleasure of a whole life and a relaxed approach to wellbeing, she said.

They also admitted to using a baby-naming site to land on the perfect strong but feminine name.
We had so many sessions searching for the name, it was crazy, Diaz said.
There are literally hundreds of thousands of wines out there, so all the names were taken.
I have pages and pages of baby names that we went through, and this one was the one where we were both like, Yeah, that’s it.
According to Avaline’s website, the range includes a white and a rosé wine, which each cost US$24 a bottle.
The wine is however only available to customers in the US for the moment.
