Back to school for the ABF detector dogs.
Our detector dogs have rare skills and are trained to sniff out drugs, tobacco, currency, explosives and firearms. In the past few months, Matilda and Zuga have gone back to school to learn a new skill – the detection of COVID-19.
Matilda and Zuga are two of the eleven ABF detector dogs that have begun their training at the @UniofAdelaide as part of a joint venture into determining the feasibility of training COVID-19 detector dogs.
COVID-19 detector dogs could potentially provide an efficient, reliable and complementary screening method as part of a future suite of biosecurity strategies in Australia. http://spr.ly/6183HrX3J
